Easter Day Musings

Easter Sunday was a beautiful day. It was also Sophie’s birthday. She is now one year old. I decided to take her on a walk at Bond Park here in Cary. It is one of our favorite places to walk and practice her training regimens. We walked about four miles including the two-mile Lake Trail that circles Bond Lake.

As we walked, enjoying the sunshine and friendly passers-by (Sophie always garners plenty of attention), I began to ponder the Easter holiday and what it means to me. Beside eating jelly beans, I mean!

I am not sure what sparked it.

Perhaps it was the recent bit in the news about some Muslim guy claiming that Jesus was never crucified. I have heard claims such as this before. I have heard some argue that there is no proof that Jesus ever even existed  … outside from the Bible, of course.  From what I see, most of the people who make this claim never looked outside the Bible … or anywhere else for that matter!

For those who do dig a little deeper, you can find evidence from non-Christian sources that help point to who Jesus was and what happened to him. This is often held up as proof that he existed and was indeed crucified. Much of Lee Strobel’s book, The Case for Christ, was based on evidence of this type. This non-Christian evidence is often written by those who were hostile toward the early Christians, which makes it an interesting spin on things … at least to me. And, I have looked at much of it. There are records from Roman era historians such as Tacitus, Pliny the Younger, or Flavius Jospehus, who are often ridiculing those early Christians and their crazy Messianic leader.

Then there are those who like to argue that these Roman historians are all liars, or that somehow their works are all some kind of forgeries … they must be part of some kind of ancient right-wing pro-Christian conspiracy I guess! I must admit it …  I find this claim by those people even more fascinating.

Anyway, we continued on our walk and enjoying the beautiful day.  I was busy watching Sophie enjoy all the sights and smells and chasing after bumble bees, when I suddenly decided none of that really mattered much to me. What really matters is what you believe, and I do believe that one of Jesus’ primary  teachings,

Love your neighbor as yourself,

is simply a pretty darn good rule to live by. Jesus stated this very same concept several times and in several different ways throughout his journey toward his death.

To me, arguing over whether Jesus was actually the Son of God or not, or whether he was crucified or not … does not in anyway make this basic concept any less profound.

This is not a statement of faith for me.  My faith is very personal. I am not very evangelical. I will discuss my beliefs with a certain few people, but I will not argue about it with anyone. I know what I believe. You can believe what you want to believe.

But, it does seem to me that if more people followed this simple “golden” rule, life would be much better for many of us!

I remember going to a J.C. Penny Golden Rule Award ceremony some years ago (during the mid-1990’s) in Knoxville, Tennessee when I was working as an Anderson County CASA volunteer. It seems this same “Golden Rule” can be found, perhaps worded a bit differently, in every major world religion: Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Confucianism, Hinduism, Zoroastrianism (and Commonsenseism … kidding here). I found that to be really fascinating at the time.  A guest speaker read each version and stated the religion in which that version was based.

I also got to meet Jack Hanna there.  That was pretty cool to!

So, anyway, Happy Easter to you all … from me and Sophie!

This Really Pisses Me Off ….

How long are we Americans going to stand by and watch while Obama and his team of liberal left-wing goonies fast-track our Country into a facist mockery of what this Nation, our Constitution, and our American ideals of liberty, freedom, justice, and rugged individualism once stood for.

It looks like Obama is destined to be a big hero in communist Russia.  He may single handedly bring about the demise of capitalism … at least according to Pravda.

American capitalism gone with a whimper

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas than the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their “right” to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our “democracy”. Pride blinds the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different “branches and denominations” were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the “winning” side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the “winning” side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America’s short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more then ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?

These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more then a whimper to their masters.

Then came Barack Obama’s command that GM’s (General Motor) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of “pure” free markets, the American president now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions..

So it should be no surprise, that the American president has followed this up with a “bold” move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less then two months ago, warned Obama and UK’s Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our “wise” Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.

Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper…but a “freeman” whimper.

So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set “fair” maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.

The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.

Maybe it is time for another AMERICAN REVOLUTION!

Is Obama Going To Be A Major League Flip Flopper Or A Liar?

Ok … Here we go again!

Stop Obama

So, Barack Obama is not a Muslim and points to his twenty-year membership in the Trinity United Church of Christ as evidence of that.

Barack Obama called the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, pastor of the Trinity United Church of Christ, his spiritual adviser, mentor, and friend. Rev. Wright performed the marriage ceremony at Barack and Michelle Obama’s wedding, and baptized the Obama children.

While on the campaign trail, Barack Obama certainly does not seem to come across as a white-hating, America-hating, ultra-liberal black radical. However, a man can be very often be understood by the company he chooses to keep.

And … Barack Obama has been keeping some mighty weird company.

Obama & Wright

Now, Obama has been called on to “denounce” the Rev. Jeremiah Wright for his rather anti-America, black separatist, Nation of Islam friendly statements and policies.

Here are some examples:

  • “Barack knows what it means to be a black man living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people,” he then trumpeted. “Hillary [Clinton] can never know that.”
  • The Rev. Wright has stated, “Hillary ain’t never been called a n——er,”
  • Speaking at the Washington, D.C., school’s Andrew Rankin Memorial Chapel, Wright said, “We started the AIDS virus. … We are only able to maintain our level of living by making sure that Third World people live in grinding poverty.”
  • The pastor also stated, in a sermon just after 9/11, that, “The government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color. The government lied.”
  • In another sermon, Rev. Wright fumes that the 9/11 attacks were a consequence of using atomic weapons against Japan and for U.S. support of “state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans.”
  • In still another sermon, Wright is telling his congregation that the United States knew of the attack on Pearl Harbor before the Japanese struck.
  • Wright has stated, “We cannot see how what we are doing is the same thing al-Qaida is doing under a different color flag … And guess what else. If they don’t find them some weapons of mass destruction, they going to do just like the LAPD and plant them some weapons of mass destruction.”
  • The Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Wright honored noted Jew hater Louis Farrakhan and even traveled with the Nation of Islam leader to visit with Libya’s Mu’ammar al-Qadhafi. You know who Qadhafi is … he’s the megalomaniac leader of Libya that instituted Sharia Law and expelled most the Jews from his country while simultaneously destroying all their cemeteries.

And here are just a few more Rev. Wright quotes to be clear on this issue!!

  • “We’ve got a paranoid group of patriots in power that now, in the interest of homeland stupidity – I mean homeland security …”
  • “The government lied about the Tuskegee experiment. They purposely infected African-American men with syphilis …”
  • “Fighting for peace is like raping for virginity.”
  • “… what’s going on in white America, U.S. of KKKA …”
  • “Black men turning on black men … that is fighting the wrong enemy. You both are the primary targets in an oppressive society that sees both of you as a dangerous threat.”
  • How about the Rev. Wright’s preaching, “God damn America … that’s in the Bible … for killing innocent people. God damn America for treating us citizens as less than human. God damn America …”

Now, it seems clear to me that, from his own words … his own “sermons”; the Rev. Jeremiah Wright is not preaching the word of God or any teachings of Jesus Christ, but is, in fact, preaching Black Separatism, Liberation Theology, and a very strong Anti-American message.

The “Reverend” Jeremiah Wright is as racist as they come and for him to be excused for the hateful, inflammatory stuff he says is incomprehensible. He is preaching hate from a church pulpit!

I find it highly unlikely that, in Obama’s 20 years of going to that church, he never personally heard his pastor say anything racist, controversial or ant-American. Do you really believe Obama just happened to be absent every time Wright made inflammatory, racist, or anti-American statements?

Does Obama really think that the American people stupid? Well, maybe he does and … and sadly … maybe some of them are!

Bad Weather Ahead!

Left-wing liberals in this country have always had a big blind spot when it comes to the history of violence among their own radicals in the 1960s. Rather than seeing it for what it was … political terrorism … and rejecting it completely, they like to romanticize its use and rationalize its effects. Many of the left-wing liberal bomb-throwers have since repented their actions, but it seems not all have … and the two that remain staunchly unrepentant and are still proud of their terrorism are associated with none other than … Barack Obama!

Bill Ayers

Throughout the 1970’s, the Weather Underground was responsible for the bombings of the National Guard offices in Washington, D.C.; the U.S. Capitol Building; the New York City Police Headquarters; and the Pentagon and other things.

In 1995, State Senator Alice Palmer introduced her chosen successor, Barack Obama, to a few of her district’s influential liberals at the home of two well known figures on the local radical left: William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

While Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn may be regarded by liberals in Hyde Park as local left-wing activist heroes, but they are actually two of the most notorious … and rigidly unrepentant … figures from the violent fringe of the 1960s left-wing anti-war movement.

Unfortunately, due to illegal surveillance conducted by the FBI, Federal prosecutors were unable to put them on trial. Bernadine Dohrn did later serve almost a year in jail for contempt of court … after refusing to testify in the case of the Brinks armed robbery that left three dead … including two New York state troopers.

Now … on to the visit of Barack Obama and the apparent blessing he received from Ayers and Dohrn.

Does this mean that Barack Obama supports the kind of political violence used by the Weather Underground couple, … or that he participated in their violent left-wing bombings in the past?

Of course not … but it does show a serious lack of both judgment and backbone … in rejecting those that do. I mean, if Barack Obama can’t even stand up to two old discredited American terrorists in Chicago … ?

I wonder if the New York Times would have this story in a two-column, front-page spread right next to a unflattering picture of Barack Obama … if Barack Obama were a Republican candidate for president?

You bet they would!

Obama & Weather Underground

Now then, how about a just few Barack Obama quotes from his own books!!

  • From his book, Dreams of My Father, “I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of 12 or 13 when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.”
  • Also from Dreams of My Father, “I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother’s race.”
  • From his book, The Audacity of Hope, “Lolo [Obama’s stepfather] followed a brand of Islam ….I looked to Lolo for guidance.”
  • Also from The Audacity Of Hope, “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”

So this is the rock star of Hope, Change, and a New America! Be careful what you wish for, because I am sure that Barack Obama sincerely does want to bring hope … to bring change … to create a new America … one in which anti-Americans, radical Black separatists, and Muslim terrorists can feel much more more at home!!

I hope real Americans will wake up and go to the polls … before the real nightmare is unleashed on us all!

By the way:

It is clear from the facts that Barack Obama’s link to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright is far, far closer than the silly link liberal democrats have been screaming about between John McCain and his anti-Catholic endorser, John Hagee.

God Is Not Dead

God, Jesus, and Inalienable Rights

We The People …

Personal religious beliefs are a touchy subject for many people, but the fact remains that our country was founded on a belief that embraces the ideal that “man is endowed by his creator with certain inalienable rights.” This fact is reflected in the Declaration of Independence, on many of our monuments, on our money, in our National Anthem and in other historic American music.

The Ten Commandments, while not the only source by any means, did help form the basis for our system of justice, and until recent years, could be found on the walls of many courthouses throughout this country. They are still found, along with a depiction of Moses and many other other important lawgivers, as part of the symbolic architecture of the U.S. Supreme Court building.

Perhaps ten to fifteen percent of the people living in this country are uncomfortable with this fact, many try to deny it, and still others actively seek to have any reference to God erased from American culture. In my opinion, this movement by left-wing progressive liberals is simply an attempt at tyranny by the minority … because eighty-five to ninety percent of Americans claim some level of Christian religious practice in the lives. In a true democratic republic … 85% would beat 15% hands down any day of the week.

The fact is that, by definition, without a God, there can be no “inalienable rights.” This, in essence, would mean that our “right” to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are merely granted to us by whatever regime happens to be in charge at the time … and therefore … could be revoked at any time by whatever regime happens to be in charge later.

Some political actors and citizens living in this country would actually like to see this happen and are working toward that goal. Not all American citizens are happy with our “American experiment” and long for a return to the Aristocratic lifestyle enjoyed by the wealthy in Europe … at the expense of the rest of us … the peasantry.

Now, I am not a Bible thumping Christian. I believe there is much, much more to the Christian story than that which can be found in the Bible alone. The Bible is certainly an important piece of the Christian puzzle. It is certainly a guidebook for Christian moral values; and it is also certainly a good history of the development of Christianity and Christian thought.

However … though the Bible is certainly a book written by men who were truly inspired by their firm belief in God and who felt awe for his wondrous creation, it was not written by God himself. And … whether you accept the doctrine of “Original Sin” or not, we all know that man has his flaws and is certainly not infallible. Therefore, I have a very real problem with the idea of a literal interpretation of the Bible.

I do however have, and have always had, a firm and unshakable belief in God, and with it, a firm and unshakable belief in our God-given inalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I also believe that living one’s life according to the teachings of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, is the true path to follow.

That being said, I do not find anywhere in Christ’s teachings, the many prohibitions, and guilt trips that organized Churches and their leaders like to inflict upon their faithful parishioners. In fact, the Beatitudes, the Sermon on the Mount, and the many parables told by Jesus as passed on to us through his disciples, can all be distilled down to one central core idea … the golden rule:

“Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also unto them,
for this is the Law and the Prophets.”

Today, many modernists like to argue that Jesus was not the Son of God, but that he was simply a great moral teacher. They just cannot except his claim to be the Son of God.

However, if Jesus was not the Son of God, and was simply a man … and then, as a man, said the sort of things He did say, Jesus would not be considered a great moral teacher. He would be considered either a lunatic (on the same level with a man who says he is an eggplant) or an evil, plotting liar.

We, as human beings, simply have to make a choice! Either Jesus was and is the Son of God … or Jesus was a madman … or something worse.  You could simply dismiss Jesus outright as a liar and a fool … or you could dismiss Jesus as an evil, plotting liar… or you can accept Him as the Lord God. But to consider him nothing more than a great moral teacher is simply patronizing nonsense. Jesus, by his words and actions, did not leave that choice open to us!

Creationism v. Evolution

Recent events in the scientific community have proved, at least to me, that one of my deeply held core beliefs is true. That core belief holds that science and religion do not disagree … unless, of course, you happen to adhere blindly to the extreme of either side of the science (science requires atheism) v. religion (literal interpretation of the Bible) argument and choose to ignore the evidence.

Here, in a nutshell, are the two extremes of the argument:

On the one side, we have prominent evolutionist, Richard Dawkins, who holds the point of view that evolution requires atheism. He claims “Faith is the great copout, the great excuse to evade the need to think and evaluate evidence.” He argues that faith is the belief in spite of the evidence, or perhaps, because of the lack of evidence. Dawkins states that faith, being a belief that isn’t based on any true evidence, is the principal vice of any religion.”

On the other side of the argument, we have Christian fundamentalists who attack science as deceitful or even dangerous, and point to a literal interpretation of the Bible as the only reliable means of discerning scientific truth. The late Henry Morris, a leader in the creationist movement is a prime example, claiming, “Evolutions lie permeates and dominates modern thought in every field. That being the case, it follows inevitably that evolutionary thought is basically responsible for the lethally ominous political developments, and the chaotic moral and social disintegrations that have been accelerating everywhere.” For Henry Morris, when science and the Bible disagree, science has obviously misinterpreted its data.”

However, for me, the belief in God has always been an entirely rational choice, and, despite the best efforts at dissuasion by many of my friends and acquaintances, I have always felt that the principles of faith are, in fact, entirely complimentary with the principles of science.  St. Thomas Aquinas tried to make this argument many years ago, some argue he succeeded and some argue that he failed … but in Thomas Aquinas’s defense, he did not have the powerful tools of modern science at his disposal.

The Human Genome: An Instruction Manual Written By The Hand Of God

Human Genome

In June of 2000, President Clinton made a speech in which he said, “Without a doubt, this is the most important, most wondrous map ever produced by humankind. …Today, we are learning the language in which God created life. We are gaining ever more awe for the complexity, the beauty, and the wonder of God’s most divine and sacred gift.”

The Human Genome is made up of all the DNA of our species; it is the “hereditary code of life.” This recently discovered text is a mere 3 billion letters long and written in a bizarre and cryptographic four-letter code. This code is so amazingly complex that, if we attempted an out-loud reading of this code at a rate of one letter per second, it would take thirty-one years, reading day and night, to complete it. If we were to print this code out in a regular sized font on a normal bond paper and then bind them all together, it would result in a tower of paper as tall as the Washington Monument.

As Dr. Francis S. Collins, head of the Human Genome Project, stated, it was a humbling and awe-inspiring experience, when he realized he was looking at the instruction manual on how to build a human being, a manual previously known only to God.

I ask you … who else could have written this book? Do you honestly believe that something so complex and so precise … evolved by accident? The odds of that are so fantastically remote that they defy any kind of scientific credibility.

This is a text that could, at least in my opinion, be on one level even more profound than the Bible … it is truly a “sacred text” that was actually written by the hand of God himself!

Dr. Francis S. Collins

By the way, Francis S. Collins is no longer an atheist.

This Human Genome revelation also brings into question many of man’s previously held beliefs and should also bring to a screeching halt several of man’s heated debates:

Here are a few examples:

First, it provides powerful support for Charles Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. How can I say that you might ask? Creation and Evolution are opposing theories … aren’t they? Not any more! Unless, of course, you choose to cling to a literal interpretation of the Bible (a text inspired by God) and ignore the Human Genome (a text written by God).

Charles Darwin’s evolutionary theory basically states that man evolved from a common ancestor with natural selection operating on randomly occurring variations. Using the human genome as a whole, a computer can now construct a tree of life based solely upon the similarity of the DNA sequences of multiple organisms. And … it can do this without the fossil record, carbon dating, anatomical observations, or finding the “missing link.”

Evolution, Intelligent Design, Creationism; these are man’s terms … they are name given to man’s attempts to explain his own creation and, in truth, have no consequence to a God who exists outside of time, and who by definition, can not exist inside the very universe He created. God, in his creation of life, could have used any of these theories, a combination of these theories, or none of these theories … as they are defined by man. He is, after all, God.

The unlocking the human genome also proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that at the DNA level, all mankind are genetically the same … we really are one race … descendant from one common source … a scientifically provable Adam and Eve.

Wow! That kind of knocks a really big hole in the arguments made by racial purists … doesn’t it. In fact, it blasts those misguided, often hate-based ideas into smithereens.

Listening to the current battle raging between theologians and scientists, an astute observer could easily ask, “Haven’t we heard this same song before?” These conflicts between man’s interpretation of scripture and man’s scientific observations are nothing new … just the same old song and dance, my friends.

Remember Galileo? Galileo was a brilliant scientist and mathematician born in Italy in 1564. He is the one who first told us that the earth actually revolves around the sun. Which … in the 1500-1600’s, was a terrible blasphemy condemned by the Church.

A Dominican Friar, Caccini, stated that geometry is an instrument of the devil and mathematicians should all be banished as authors of heresies.

After all, doesn’t Psalm 93:1 say that “The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved,” and Psalm 104:5 also states that “He set the earth on its foundation; it can never be moved.” Ecclesiastes 1:5 states that “The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises.”

Tell me … is the problem really with God’s wondrous creation, or could it simply be that man’s inspired descriptions of it … fall a little short?

Copernicus wrote “To know the mighty works of God; to comprehend His wisdom and majesty and power; to appreciate, in degree, the wonderful workings of his laws, surely all this must be a pleasing and acceptable mode of worship to the Most High, to whom ignorance cannot be more grateful than knowledge.”

That, my friends, is the job of science …

God Is Very Much Alive

Contrary to the pronouncement by Friedrich Nietzsche, God is certainly not dead!

I have known that for a long, long time. Every time I stand on some Smoky Mountain peak at sunrise, or paddle my canoe slowly up some wild and pristine Adirondack stream, or gaze up at night at the star-filled heavens, … and my eyes and ears take in the awesome beauty of his creation and I can feel God’s presence in my soul.

And now … thanks to science and the Human Genome Project, we have the scientific proof that can be seen with our own two eyes. The human genome is the secret to one of God’s greatest miracle … how to create a man!

The War Between Science And Religion

Albert Einstein

A scientist, Albert Einstein, saw the poverty of a purely scientific world view. Einstein wrote, “Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.”

The Bible, in Proverbs 19:2 warns us against having a well-intentioned but misinformed religious fervor saying, “It is not good to have zeal without knowledge.”

I think it is about time to put this silly, escalating war between religion and science to rest. It has never really been necessary at all. This war has been initiated, perpetuated, and intensified by extremists on both sides, who, like Chicken Little, like to run around screaming a warning of imminent ruin and destruction … if the other side is not quickly vanquished.

Science is not threatened by God … science is simply man’s attempt to understand God’s creation. Science by its nature is self-correcting. Bad science does not stand long before honest scrutiny. And God is certainly not threatened by science … after all, God made it all possible. The more we learn about our Universe … the more awesome it becomes … the more we become truly aware of God’s hand in its creation.

Sincere seekers of the truth embrace both science and religion … both call to them equally. It is time to abandon the same old tired war between science and religion … and to answer that call. The future of our world depends on it.

I am reminded of a joke about a group of scientists who struggle to uncover the secrets of the universe. They strive hard … advancing up that steep mountain … step by painstaking step … sometimes succeeding and sometimes failing … often having to begin again … and … finally … finally … reaching the mountain top! And … what do they find when they get there? A group of priests who ask, “What took you so long?”
