Wal-Mart Joins Michael Bloomberg’s War On Law-Abiding Gun Owners!
Wally World To Police Gun Owners!
I have always disliked shopping at Wal-Mart for several reasons: First, because they put local retailers out of business. Second, because they are so big they can dictate to their distributors the prices they will pay for the merchandise they sell …. often causing their distributors to go out of business. Now I have another reason … and I will no longer shop at Walmart …. period!
Wal-Mart recently joined New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s war on law abiding gun-owners by attending a gathering of Bloomberg’s anti-gun group, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, to announce a series of changes to the way in which Wal-Mart will handle future firearm transactions. At the gathering, J.P. Suarez, chief compliance officer for Wal-Mart Stores Inc., stated: “The costs are, we think, part of what it takes to be responsible.” Suarez also added, “This is not a signal that we’re getting out of firearms.” Well, I think they may as well be … I hope their firearms sales fall through the floor.
Once these changes have been instituted, firearm purchases at Wal-Mart will involve getting a video record of the sale, which the chain will then keep on file . It seems Wally World is now getting into the law enforcement market and effectively creating its own video database of gun purchasers. Wal-Mart also is giving its employees the discretion to deny the sale of a firearm to anyone who has ever had a firearm traced by BATFE for any reason …. including those who have had a firearm stolen that was later used by a criminal in the commission of a crime.
I say anyone who gets video taped buying a firearm at Wal-Mart deserves what they get!
Wayne LaPierre, NRA Executive Vice President, said, “I view it as a public relations stunt that stigmatizes law-abiding firearms purchasers exercising their constitutional freedoms. I honestly think it’s a corporation trying to curry favor with politicians as opposed to doing anything meaningful about stopping crime.”
I agree with Wayne LaPierre’s comment.
And … I think all American gun owners should boycott Wal-Mart permanently!
I, personally, will never give Wal-Mart another dime of my money. It is time for the 80 million law-abiding gun owners in this country to start making a stand against these consistent, and unconstitutional attacks on our Second Amendment Rights by liberal elitists whatever stripe they choose to hide behind.
Clinton and Obama Now Support The Second Amendment?
As Democratic Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama battled each other at the Democratic debate in Philadelphia last week, the debate moderator Charlie Gibson, from ABC News, opened the debate on the gun issue by stating, “Both of you, in the past, have supported strong gun control measures. But now when I listen to you on the campaign, I hear you emphasizing that you believe in an individual’s right to bear arms. Both of you were strong advocates for licensing of guns. Both of you were strong advocates for the registration of guns.” (Sound familiar to you? It does me!) “Why don’t you emphasize that now, Senator Clinton?”
Hillary answered with her typical stream of generic generalizations, but manage to be clear on at least one position stating, “I will [also] work to reinstate the assault weapons ban,” also noting that, “the Republicans will not reinstate it.”
Gibson then asked Obama about the Heller case which is now before the United States Supreme Court, and specifically whether he thinks the D.C. gun ban is somehow “consistent with an individual’s right to bear arms.” Obama’s response was, “ I confess I obviously haven’t listened to the briefs and looked at all the evidence. As a general principle, I believe that the Constitution confers an individual right to bear arms. But just because you have an individual right does not mean that the state or local government can’t constrain the exercise of that right…”
Mr. Gibson again asked, “But do you still favor the registration of guns? Do you still favor the licensing of guns?”, while Barack Obama was very evasive and never really gave a straight answer, causing the moderator to comment, “I’m not sure I got an answer from Senator Obama.”
Senator Clinton was then asked, “Do you support the D.C. ban?” Hillary, too, was very evasive but did state that she wants, “to give local communities the opportunity to have some authority over determining…” firearms law. Again Gibson pressed her about the D.C. Gun Ban, “But what do you think? Do you support it or not?”
“Well, what I support is sensible regulation that is consistent with the constitutional right to own and bear arms,” she said.
“Is the D.C. ban consistent with that right?” asked the Charlie Gibson.
“Well, I think a total ban, with no exceptions under any circumstances, might be found by the court not to be. But I don’t know the facts,” Clinton concluded.
At least Hillary Clinton was right about that.
The fact is that neither candidate joined more than 300 of their congressional colleagues in signing a brief in the Heller case in support of the Second Amendment, and both candidates’ records are well documented and show, without doubt, that they’re both radically anti-gun. For either of them to now even attempt to convince Americans they support gun-owner’s rights is absurd. If neither one of them can plainly state that a ban on guns in the home for self-defense runs contrary to the Second Amendment, one can have little doubt that either candidate believes any gun law would.

About Darren Gilbert
I am an unapologetically patriotic American! I am also a hard-working, middle-class American. I served in the U.S. military. I own guns. I am a Christian. I do believe that as an honorable nation, America must keep her word and honor her commitments; and support her loyal long-time friends and allies such as Israel. I believe in our inalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; which then must necessarily be coupled with an individual’s acceptance of personal responsibility for his or her own actions. In other words, we do have the right to choose our own actions, but not always the right to decide the consequences of our actions.
I support the Tea Party in its efforts to bring fiscal responsibility back to this country’s out-of-control, overgrown, spend-crazy government; and to stop the dangerous borrowing and out-of-control debt growth created by both political parties in Congress. For this, I am considered a terrorist by our vice-President, Joe Biden and the Director of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano.
I am 51 years old and have seen a great deal in my life. In fact, for many years, I was one of those guys who couldn’t figure out what he wanted to be when he grew up, and because of that, I have seen, done, and experienced a great deal. I earned my Eagle Scout, was a member of the Order of the Arrow, and earned the God and Country Award. I proudly served four years in the U.S. Army Infantry and spent most of that time stationed overseas in Germany, South Korea, and Panama. I have traveled to Italy, England, France, and about half of the 50 states.
I have been interested in martial arts most of my life and dabbled in Uechi-Ryu and Tae Kwon Do early on. I began the study of Isshin-ryu Karate in 1983 and now hold a 4th degree black belt under the late Sensei Sherman Harrill.
In 1999, I began Executive Security International’s Advanced Executive Protection Program and graduated as a Certified Protection Specialist.
Over the years, I have driven a glass delivery truck for a wholesale glass company, roofed houses, completed a lineman’s apprenticeship program and worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority as both a journeyman lineman and a dual-rate line-foreman. I have worked as both an armed and unarmed security guard, and as a personal security consultant.
For the last 10 years, I have been working in the IT field and now work for the University of Tennessee. I hold several IT certifications including A+, Network +, Security +, and CEH. I am currently pursuing a Master of Science’s degree in Information Security and Assurance with Western Governors University.
I enjoy ballroom dancing, the great outdoors, reading, living karate-do, and recreational shooting with both rifles and handguns. I am a proud father and grandfather, a lifetime member of the NRA, and a committed Patriot Warrior.

Hi Darren.
I have an older sister who lives much of the time in England and sometime in the States, who is vehemently anti gun, while I myself have several, from handguns to shotguns and rifles. We tend to have some interesting exchanges. I say interesting though the truth be told, rather more like contentious. She accuses me of being totally self in my right to possess such dreadful murderous pieces of death and destruction, while I protest my innocence and point to the fact, that I am a law abiding citizen, who even when provoked to extremes (especially by a cold calculating bitter ex-wife), would never dream of threatening another being in anything other than self defense. Still, I am the monster for maintaining my right to self defense (and for the enjoyment of the sport of shooting). Amusingly the conversation always ends the same way, with her berating me for being cold and cruel, after all, think of all the innocent children, whereupon, I always reply that she may wait upon the day when the raving mad jihadis come charging down her street, then we can see how effective her technique of the “disdainful, condescending sneer” is at sending them scurrying off in retreat. Invariably this ends the conversation and we don’t speak again for months. As the old saying goes…”There’s now’t stranger than folk”
England is the classic case against gun control, for ever since those draconian laws were introduced, crime with a weapon has increased dramatically, while crime in general, and violent assaults have skyrocketed; and yet, large numbers of the British people are vehemently anti gun. The concept of individual responsibility seems so alien to them, that they would rather give power to the state to enforce rules of none existent protection upon everyone, and then scratch their collective heads in stupefaction as to why nothing deters the criminal or why so many criminals have no care as to the brutality and callous cruelty they inflict upon their innocent victims. There is a lesson here much of humanity willfully refuses to understand.I guess the answers are simply to fearful for them to accept, that being, in many cases, you DO need to stand up for yourself; then of course, far, far too many want someone else to take care of them, it is after all, so much easier!
Hi Richard,
Thanks for the nice comment. I have spent time in the UK and have seen that mentality there.
I have a good friend who grew up in Scotland and who is an avid shooter. In fact, he has shot for both the Scottish and Australian national teams. He is only to happy to tell you what he thinks of the UK’s draconian gun laws and his sentiments are probably not pleasant.
I believe I heard that at one time, the UK’s national rifle team had to travel to France to practice … but I may be mistaken. If true, that is so sad!

Thank you Darren for your service and Patriotism. Life is hard in the US because so many have forgotten what ‘patriotism’ is/means and how this Nation was founded. We’ve slid long and hard downwards and politicians like Bloomberg, big business CEOs such as who’ve been in the news lately and Presidential aspirants like B. Hussein Obama are the reasons. Keep up the good fight. Keep the ‘rubber down’ and the ‘powder dry’.
From the ‘left coast’ but not for long,
